Students of the Faculty of Agriculture from Zemun visited our orchards and the cold storage. During the tour through the orchard, they were introduced with the structure of the plantation, the presence of varieties as well as the technology of production, the time of harvest, how to harvest and protect the orchard. They were presented the importance of irrigation systems, both during vegetation and during frost protection. They had the opportunity to see the harvesting process in the Fuji variety. After that, they were introduced with our club variety Crimson Snow, where they had the opportunity to learn about the characteristics and specificities of the club apple varieties.
After visiting the orchards, they visited the cold storage where they had the opportunity to see the production, packaging of the Granny Smith apple variety and learn about the characteristics by which the apple is sorted by class. During the tour of the chambers, they were presented the capacity of the cold storage, the year of construction of the first and second phases, as well as the potential expansion due to the expansion of the orchards. They were introduced with the latest ULO and DCA technologies, Smart Fresh technology as well as storage parameters for each variety.
